ESMA Publishes Delegated Regulations on Fees for Trade Repositories and Exempted Entities
On 12 July 2013, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) confirmed the European Commission’s adoption of two Delegated Regulations made under EMIR:
- Delegated Regulation specifying the fees to be charged to trade repositories by ESMA, which the Commission was required to draft pursuant to Article 72(3) of EMIR. The Regulation will enter into force on the third day following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJ);
- Delegated Regulation to include the central banks and debt management offices of the United States and Japan in the list of exempted entities under Article 1(4) of EMIR. The Regulation will enter into force on the twentieth day following its publication in the OJ.
