Training

Our ability to equip our team with the knowledge and tools they need to do the job is at the heart of what we do. We genuinely believe that passing on knowledge – whether via formal training, breakfast briefings or day-to-day mentoring – is a critical part of the role of every member of the DRS team.

We foster an atmosphere that encourages learning and development. This aligns with our values, makes us better individuals and helps drive us forward collectively. DRS offers a variety of opportunities to learn such as in person training, an extensive learning management system and multiple training programmes.

Some of the training we offer at DRS is housed on our learning platform. You can benefit from videos, reading material, exercises, test your knowledge and access a wiki, where everyone can share knowledge collaboratively. All employees have free access to a huge range of how-to guides for different topics, including document negotiation. We also provide specialised training on all of the various document types we deal with, such as ISDAs, GMRAs, ACAs, IM documentation, GMSLAs, ISDA Protocols and many more.

We also provide training on key skills such as negotiation styles, dealing with competing deadlines, mastering email communication, Microsoft Word and Excel training as well as guidance on building soft skills such as dealing with stress, building resilience and financial training. Having this platform available so that employees can further their technical knowledge is key to our business and it is available throughout your time at DRS to ensure ongoing training and development. There will also be opportunities for employees to contribute to the materials on the learning platform.

We host regular training sessions in-house, such as Lunch Clubs. These are an informal knowledge sharing session which follows a cycle of work. During these, employees have the opportunity to discuss the work and share any knowledge or questions which arose during the cycle.

We also provide behavioural training, which touches upon each employees’ behavioural traits so we can help individuals work at their optimum level. It allows us to provide support and give feedback that aligns with their style of working and learning.
